Richard Lawrence Associates was established by our principal consultant Peter Hopkins. Peter's wide experience involves Health & Safety Auditing, Fire Safety, Policy Writing, Accident and Loss Adjusting Investigation, Contractor Negotiation, Warehousing Distribution and total quality Management.

Work has been undertaken within the Health & Safety arena for manufacturing companies and organisations such as Local Authorities (including schools and colleges of Further and Higher Education), Property Associations (offices, sheltered housing, etc), construction companies, architects, surveyors and Church authorities as well as many small and medium size business activities. Training is also provided in aspects of logistics, purchasing and total quality management.

For many years both European and UK Health & Safety legislation has developed and has had an ever widening application. Advances in technology have brought with them new risks which may be present both inside and outside the workplace and the law has grown to meet these new challenges.

More recently it has been recognised that the most significant factor having influence over both the creation and the control of such risks (of people and indeed their assets) is Management, a fact now clearly embodied in UK legislation - the Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1992 (amended 1999).
